When you arrive
You will find here some information and tips to make a good start in Nancy.

If you are in a residence you will need:
- the superficy of your flat
- the ICN admission letter
- an Identity card or a passport
- an accomodation certificate

- an EDF bill not older than 2 months

With the opening of your bank account, you will recieve an housing certificate that allows you to start the CAF procedure.

EDF electricity
If you live in Pythagore, we need to take care of the opening of the contract with EDF.
You have to send us:
- Your flat number
- A RIB (bank account identification)
- the "heures pleines" high cost energy period and "heures creuses" low cost energy period which are on your electric meter
- the name of the former resident
- your name
If you live in Totem, you do not need to worry about this matter. It is all included in your rent.
Otherwise check with the owner of your flat.

CAF
The CAF will allow you to have APL. It give you an housing allowance to help you to pay your rent.

MGEL
What is MGEL ?
It is a mutual insurance company well known in France with a lot of advantages.
A lot of students of ICN buy the PACK MGEL because you have a lot of services with it: Civil Liability, housing insurance, car insurance, theft keys insurance ...

When you leave
You will find here all you need to resiliate the different things that you have subscribed during your stay in Nancy.

Do not resiliate your bank account before EDF withdraws the last amount of your monthly electrical consuming.
​
The bank resiliation is an easy procedure, the resiliation can be done even if you are already back home.

Don't forget to close your EDF account before leaving !

CAF
Connect to your CAF account using the login you were given when you first subscribed. You will have to change your situation ie "changement de situation" where you will have to indicate the date when you will leave your flat and your new address (ie the one of your homecountry).

MGEL
To resiliate your MGEL, you will have to send this type of letter making the appropriate modifications ie indicate your name, first name and the date you want to resiliate MGEL etc. as explained inside the document.
Then, print it and send it to MGEL, 44 Cours Léopold, 54000 NANCY.
Those which spend a whole year in Nancy do not have to do that since it is a year contract.

You can write this letter in English, you have to mention inside that you are an international student and that you want to stop your contract IMMEDIATELY.
